How and or where did you meet?
We actually met through an accidental email and Venmo! Haha, true story!
We were both in the graduate school at MSU (but different programs) when we got a glitchy newsletter from the graduate school about upcoming presentations or events. There was a glitch where EVERYONE who replied to the email sent it to every graduate student. We got almost 200 emails within a couple hours saying “unsubscribe” but some people got funny with it and asked to follow their social media channels. Alex asked for “rent contributions” and attached his Venmo handle. I thought it was funny and sent him $1. He replied to the email again saying he got his first contribution and ended it with “Also, sup @AnnaGraceE?” Our best friends got involved and encouraged us to get to know each other. The rest is history.
How did you get proposed to?
As part of our little holiday tradition, Alex took me to the Christmas lights at the Botanical Gardens. We actually saw another couple getting engaged that night (before I knew what he was planning) and I asked him how many people he thought got engaged at the lights every year. Glad I didn’t scare his plan off – haha! At the end of the path, we took a photo by my favorite tree and he proposed.
What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
First Look. 100%. By that time of the day, we were both a little too stressed and seeing each other was a breath of fresh air. From then on we were able to completely relax and enjoy our day!
