How and or where did you meet?
We met through church while at Mizzou. I, Jordan, was in graduate school and Cole worked at the ticket office. We didn’t talk much when we met because we didn’t think we had much in common. We went as a group to a Pumpkin Festival, a tradition in Columbia, that’s where we had our first real conversation and he asked me on our first date the very next day.
How did you get proposed to?
Our proposal story is a wild ride. I was in my last semester of graduate school when the pandemic hit. We had just learned our county was going to go into lockdown in mid-March of 2020. I quickly transitioned to online, and Cole was the only person going into his office. One day after work he took me to my office so we could clean it out. Mizzou is a beautiful campus, so I took my dog, Wilson, and we decided to walk her first. 2020 was hard on us all but at that point so much was unknown, and we were talking about those challenges while walking the dog. We walked up to the circle drive facing the Columns and I saw a little blue ring box sitting on the ledge. It was a cloudy dreary day and campus was deserted so it was just us (and what I later found out, 2 friends hiding in trees). He got down on one knee while I was holding the dog leash and I said yes on March 17th, which was our 17-month anniversary of our first date.
What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
We got married 3 months after he proposed and held our wedding on our one-year anniversary. With missing out on so much because of Covid the best part of our day was finally getting to celebrate our love and because we had already been married a year it was a lot less pressure and we really got to have fun.
What vendors did you use at your wedding?
We had Chick-Fila (Branson location) and Andy’s. The venue was Dooleys Chapel
What was your experience like at Normans Bridal?
My experience was great. It was actually the first place I went. I tried a second shop and absolutely hated the experience, we hopped in the car and immediately drove back to Normans
