Rachel & Drew’s Old Towne Nuptials ~ 10-20-18

How and or where did you meet?
Drew and Rachel met in what many would say was the “wrong” place at the right time. They had both separately made the drive from Springfield to Joplin with some friends for a fun-filled Friday night at Downstream Casino. In true stingy, accountant form, Rachel and fellow accountant/BFF Meg were done gambling after losing about $10. They decided to hang out at the sports bar to watch the Cardinals game and eat some chips and dip. Those chips had barely been touched when two guys plopped down at the bar next to them. After telling Random Guy #1 “no” to his offer to buy her a drink at least three times, Rachel finally gave in. A beer, a basket of chips, and a baseball game later, Drew and Rachel had hit it off.

How did you get proposed to?
Drew took Rachel back to the same spot on the bank of Stockton Lake where they had gone on their first date. It is also the place they had their first kiss and said their first “I love you” (no, these were not all in the same day). They were fishing, but not catching much, so Rachel requested a lure change (because it is always the lure’s fault). Drew knelt down next to his tackle box to find her a new lure while she stood next to him waiting. He finally found one, but was struggling to tie it on to her line because his hands were shaking so badly. He started talking about how blessed they had been to find each other and about building a family together in the home they had found just days earlier. He also talked about how blessed they are to have the family and friends they have. By this time, Rachel had caught on to what was happening and burst into tears (shocker). Drew pulled out a ring and asked Rachel to spend the rest of her life with him. Of course, she said yes.

What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
Our favorite memory from the wedding day was having all of our favorite people in the world in one place at one time. The love was so tangible and just so much more than we could’ve ever asked or planned for. We would live that day over and over a million times if we could!

What was your experience like at Normans Bridal?
My experience at Normans Bridal was amazing. I explained to Brenda exactly what I was looking for and in what price range. She pulled several dresses for me right away that were just like what I had described. She never tried to sway me a different direction or sell me on something outside my price range. I can’t say enough about how kind she was and how comfortable she made me feel. Most girls dream about wedding dress shopping, but for me, it was the part of planning I dreaded most. Brenda made it a super enjoyable experience and I can’t thank her enough for that!
