To Veil or Not To Veil

Accessories are everything, and we’re going to talk about all things veils! It always comes down to the personal choice of the bride, but a veil choice can depend on your venue, personal preference and of course your dress. An option can always be to wear a veil just for pictures, and take it off for the ceremony. If you’re considering a veil, these are all things veils that you need to know!

Veil Lengths
Length is crucial when it comes to picking out the perfect veil. The most common lengths are fingertip, waltz, cathedral and royal. Cathedral length is perfect for a dramatic look, while fingertip is just as beautiful for the extra look you’re going for. You never really know your perfect length until you try them all on!

Fingertip veils are just like the sound. The end of the veil ends at the fingertips.

Waltz length veils end just above the floor.

Cathedral veils are long and dramatic and usually end at the end of the train.

-Royal veils are the most dramatic with the long flowing tulle ending past the end of the train.

Layers

Traditionally a blusher is added to the top layer to cover the brides face as she walks down the aisle. It’s more common to wear a single layer veil that does not cover the face today. A second layer is also an option if you like a more voluminous look.

Details
When it comes to veils, it’s all in the details. Depending on the vibe of your wedding, you can have fun with your veil or go for a sleek simple look. Dotted glitter veils have been all the rave, while colorful embroidered lace has been making its way into recent bridal trends. Timeless lace edged veils complement a variety of wedding dress styles as does a simple beaded edge veil.
Colors
While the typical veil colors include white, ivory, or champagne, you can also accessorize with black, or a hint of color. Blush is always a perfect subtle pop of color!
