Cody and I went to elementary school together; however, we were not friends. We didn’t become friends until my junior of high school when we started hanging out with mutual friends. Cody and I instantly clicked and started dating on April 10, 2012. We do everything together, that is when he is home from working on the road, as a welder. We hang out with our friends every weekend. Our favorite thing to do together though is ride our RZR side by side. Cody proposed on January 2, 2016 in Arkansas on a riding trip. We have pictures and a video of the proposal, because he told our friends we were with that he was going to ask. The view was from the top of White Rock Mountain and although it wasn’t much of a surprise because we had discussed marriage, it was perfect. He asked with a bread tie because he didn’t want to bring my engagement ring on the trail and lose it.
When we started discussing dates, Cody said he would like to have it on April 10th so he wouldn’t have to remember a new date. While, April 10th was on a Sunday this year, I didn’t want to plan a wedding in four months and rush things. So, we settled on September 10, 2016.
I went to Normans in Springfield to get my dress and instantly fell in love with two different ones, and after trying them on I just knew that the one I picked was the perfect one. I also decided to get a veil, although I didn’t put it over my face at the wedding. And got a hair piece to put in my hair. I loved the help Norman’s provided and the way they shared their honest opinions about dresses, veils, and hair pieces on me.
Our wedding day was perfect, we had it in a field at our house in Wheatland, MO. The weather cooperated, the food, music, and cake were great, and we had all of our family and friends there. We had an amazing time and I don’t think Cody will have any problems remembering our date after the memories we made together that day!
