How and or where did you meet?
I was at another wedding and met our friend James Faucher and his wife Liz. James and I talked and he asked if I wanted to meet his friend Josh. At the time, I didn't know that James stepped outside to call Josh and told him that he met his future wife. Being from St. Louis and Josh from Springfield, I didn't think anything would come of this but I agreed to meet his friend and we made plans to meet at a Mizzou football game. After the football game, Josh and I traveled back and forth from St. Louis to Springfield each weekend. About 8 months later, I applied for a job in Springfield and moved here. As they say, the rest is history.
How did you get proposed to?
Through covid, Josh and I built our dream home together. With this house being so special to the both of us, Josh decided to propose in our home. It was Christmas Eve. We have a traditional family dinner on Christmas Eve with both of our families. Before we left to meet family for dinner, we planned to take photos in front of our Christmas tree. Instead of taking our regular Christmas photo, Josh proposed in front of our Christmas tree. Then we got to head to our Christmas Eve dinner and celebrate with both of our families!
Where did you get married?
Josh and I both love wine, so we chose to get married at a winery in the St. Louis area called Chandler Hill Vineyards. The venue has an incredible deck space overlooking the vineyards. We were able to walk through the vineyards and capture the most beautiful photos and memories. Chandler Hill also allowed us decorations, the most amazing wedding coordinator, and an on site chef. We would choose this venue again a million times!
What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
How can I choose just one? The day was absolutely perfect. It started with the most beautiful 80 degree July day! We were so blessed to have such incredible vendors, friends, and family to celebrate with. If I had to choose just one favorite memory, it would be my first look with Josh. We did a first look before the ceremony, just the two of us and it was so special to get to share that moment together. We also exchanged the vows we wrote for one another at our first look as to keep those between each other.
What vendors did you use at your wedding?
As stated, our wedding was in the St. Louis area so most of our vendors are also based out of St. Louis. We would absolutely recommend each and every one of them. What was your experience like at Normans Bridal?
We had an incredible experience at Normans Bridal. I had tried on some dresses at other places but nothing that I had seen fit the vision I had for my dress. I brought in some photos and Normans had exactly what I was picturing. They were so patient with my indecisiveness. I chose to come back another day and try the dresses on again before deciding. There was lots of space for friends and family to join as well. They were incredibly professional and helpful through the whole process.
