How and or where did you meet?

My husband and I met as children, (our parents were “weekend group” buds and his older sister and I were friends), so we had some of our most enjoyable childhood memories together — not to mention some of the most UNenjoyable, too. Like the time he shot me in the lower back with a paintball gun… Which I still carry a scar and bitterness over! But that’s what an 8 year old boy does when we has a crush… Right? Lol As the years went on and we inevitably grew older, we drifted into different friend groups and with there being a two year age gap between us, we lost all touch with one another. Little did I know, however, Haden had been secretly keeping tabs on me through-out middle and high school. Never once reaching out to me, but always keeping me in the back of his mind as fond memories of an old crush. It wasn’t until our early 20’s, (after a ton of life-altering events, for us both individually, when a person falls into their self and then tries to find the light out of the tunnel), that he randomly found me on social media and we caught fire — finding our light at the end of the tunnel in one another. We truly believe God needed us to know one another as children so that when we were ready to nurture the relationship into something genuine we would be prepared. That is why I am SO grateful for Norman’s and the absolutely gorgeous dress they had, which was perfect for our big day! The experience of dress shopping with mine and Haden’s loved ones, and then the moment my mother-in-law picked out the dress added so much more to our “full-circle” love story.

How did you get proposed to?

Haden surprised me one Autumn morning with a random trip to our favorite spot on his family’s generational farm. It is on a cliffside rock, over looking most of the property and rolling hillsides. He waited until we were both looking out over the land on either side of the giant rock and then got down on one knee when I turned to smile at him.

Where did you get married?

We were married on my family’s farm — the same farm we will one day own ourselves. The ceremony was held in one of the bottom hay fields; surrounded by mature trees, a wet-weather creek, green grass and golden flocks of fescue.

What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?

The heart-to-heart my father and I shared as he drove me to the ceremony site in the truck we rode in during my childhood.

What vendors did you use at your wedding?

Our photographer was a local artist: Quencie Colley-Thompson

Describe your dress!

I would describe my dress as a vintage-inspired lace. It has subtle hints of faux diamonds and is the perfect blend of timeless lace with modern flares.

What was your experience like at Normans Bridal?

PERFECT. I came to Norman’s feeling anxious and uncertain, but immediately became at ease and enjoyed my entire experience the moment they greeted our party at the door!
